The Karmiel Industry Park is located alongside the City's eastern border.
It covers over nearly 500 acres. The Park has over 200 factories and workshops occupying 600 thousand square meters of built spaces, employing more than 8,000 workers.
The Karmiel Economic Corporation is working to develop and market the industrial zone to developers. The Karmiel Industry Park has available plots measuring 2-55 dunam (2,000-55,000 square meters), of which some are fitted with infrastructure and ready for immediate allocation.
These days the City of Karmiel is working with the Karmiel Economic Corporation Ltd on expanding the industrial zone.

The city is classified as "remote periphery" for factories relocating from the central regions: according to Government Resolution 1832, factories relocating to the peripheral areas are entitled to government aid for wages.

The City is home to the Ort Braude Academic Engineering College which trains engineers, practical engineers and technicians.

A four-lane highway connects Karmiel with Haifa.
